Waaihoek Pedestrian Podium, Bloemfontein, South Africa. 2019
The brief was for the concept design of a pedestrian podium that needed to cantilever over the existing storm water canal that runs through the hart of the city.
The existing Markgraaff Road pedestrian bridge, which forms part of the immediate context, inspired the steel arch of the proposed design.
